The Occupy NOLA Solidarity Economy Group and the ZigZag Discussion Group continue the series of meetings on the Solidarity Economy with a session on “Strategizing the Solidarity Economy in New Orleans.”  We will meet at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 27, in Seminar Room 4 in Loyola’s Monroe Library. Don Paul, who was Director of Operations for Common Ground Relief, will discuss Common Ground’s efforts to initiate cooperative projects, and others will report on other aspects of New Orleans’ history of mutual aid and cooperation. The main topic of discussion will be the possibilities in New Orleans today to create a solidarity economy with cooperative production, cooperative consumption, and cooperative living, and the concrete steps that can be taken to realize this goal.  This series of discussions is also a course of the NOLA Free School Network. All events are free and open to all. For further information, please contact clark@loyno.edu.
