Occupy NOLA Genreal Assembly Notes – November 14
On Thursday November 15, the New Orleans venue Chickie Wah Wah will be hosting a benefit for the Occupy Movement’s Rolling Jubilee Telethon. The politically vocal folkie Michelle Shocked and surprise guests will perform here in New Orleans!
Sunday Nov 18 – Operation Holidays via the Craftivist Workshop will meet at 7pm at Occupy The Stage
Monday Nov 19 – There will be a Tar Sands Protest in Texas.
The NOLA Organizing Against Keystone meeting is at Fair Grinds on Thursday at 6pm for all who would like to show solidarity in New Orleans.
Thursday, November 22 5:30pm – Occupy Thanksgiving will be held at Occupy The Stage.
December 15 -Occupy NOLA will participate in an Austerity Protest in Solidarity with Gulf Coast People’s Convention! Please attend the Direct Action Working Group (Tuesdays at Occupy The Stage 7pm) or email email@example.com to get involved.
The Occupy Puppet Theater/ 99% Voting Booth is still accepting write-in ballots and will do so until everyone has had the opportunity to vote. Ballots can be submitted at Occupy The Stage or digitally.
Teach-Ins for month of Nov and Dec
Occupy NOLA has scheduled two educationals and is waiting for confirmation of location availability.

Debt Assembly – Nov 27 at 7pm (Location TBA)
Teach-In about The Fiscal Cliff – Dec 1 at 3pm (Location TBA) (note – we agreed to do this on a Saturday and somehow I have the date the 2nd in my notes when the Saturday in December is actually the 1st).
1. Solidarity with Walmart Strikers! Passed Unanimously
Occupy NOLA stands in solidarity with Walmart employees and members will support Walmart Strikers on Black Friday (Nov 23) at locations in Louisiana where employees are actually striking. Other options for expressing solidarity include petitioning and using resources from The Corporate Action Center to raise awareness.
2. Digital Media Should Not Use Facebook to Post Details Related To Occupy NOLA or OTS Direct Actions Prior to Actions. Passed Unanimously
3. Solidarity against proposed law to close Jackson Square daily between 1am and 5am by attending General Assembly of Jackson Square Nov 19! Passed Unanimously
Occupy NOLA offers solidarity to the Jackson Square tarot card readers and all people (citizens and visitors) who will suffer under the proposed law to close Jackson Square pedestrian mall daily from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.
The Occupy NOLA General Assembly will offer solidarity specifically by attending the General Assembly of Jackson Square (not to be confused with The Occupy NOLA General Assembly) 6pm on Monday, Nov 19 and assisting with spreading awareness via flyers.
