We, the Indigenous peoples of the Gulf Coast, call upon all people to join us in honoring Indigenous sovereignty and the protection of air, land and water in solidarity and support of the grass roots movement, Idle No More.

In honor and recognition of Chief Theresa Spence and the Attawapiskat people, Idle No More – Gulf Coast invites you to attend an event set to be held on January 20, in City Park’s Pavillion number one, New Orleans, Louisiana, at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Grand Caillou/Dulac Band of Biloxi-Chitimacha-Choctaw Tribe and Ilse de Jean Charles Band of Biloxi-Chitimacha-Choctaw Tribe can relate to the issues of our Attawapiskat brothers and sisters as we battle issues that directly affect our way of living – including land loss, loss of tribal sovereignty and industrial pollution.
