Occupy The Stage: OTS is building a propaganda / trinket cart for outreach purposes

Occupy The Stage is going to be on a live broadcast on OPN on January 24. Thursday 7pm
It will be creative, artistic, exhibitionist.

DAWG: Members attended Noise Protest on New Year’s Eve at OPP and thought the vandalism of monument to fallen officers was not an effective method of protest.

The Walmart on Tchopitoulas was re-signed with factual information about Walmart’s low wages and a shrine for people who died in Bangladesh fire was placed in ladies undergarments Faded Glory section.

Announcements:

The Social Justice Team at the First Universal Unitarian Church has a feeling of rejuvenation. Sunday 5:30 there will be an organizational meeting at UU Church.

The NFL and City of New Orleans have established a Clean Zone and there will be a zoning teach in at MACCNO on Jan 16.
The Clean Zone established for the Super Bowl is disturbing.

Proposal: make shirts that say “This shirt is illegal” and propaganda to hand out with them. – Passed Unanimously

Proposal – Endorse Occupy National Gathering 2013. Passed Unanimously.

At this point the GA became more of a discussion of whether or not “Occupy” was still alive throughout the country. Due to the informal nature of the GA (lack of facilitator and stack-taker), some people were interrupting and others were not able to express their feelings. Tempers were lost.
It is this note-taker’s opinion that even if only a few members attend a GA, the formal structure is necessary to allow everyone to have an equal voice.~ small affair
