Occupy the Stage, Occupy NOLA‘s working group, was delighted to participate in the April 30th Enough Is Enough Statewide Rally on the steps of the Louisiana State Capitol building.

This was a great day for Louisiana as hundreds gathered to voice the following demands to Governor Jindal:

  • Justice for Public Hospital Workers,
  • Stop the Cuts to Education,
  • Stop the Privatization of Retirement,
  • Stop Laying of State Employees,
  • Stop Over Testing Our Children and Undervaluing our Teachers

Participating organizations included the Louisiana Federation of Teachers, the Louisiana Association of Educators, the Louisiana Association of Retired State Employees, the East Baton Rouge NAACP, AFSCME, Coalition to Save Our State, American Federation of State, County & Municipal, Employees (AFSCME), Committee to Save Southeast Louisiana Hospital (SELH), United Teachers of New Orleans (UTNO), Community Voice, Louisiana Freedmen Missionary Baptist General Association, Children’s Defense Fund-Louisiana, Advocates for LA Public Health Care (ALPH), Occupy NOLA and Occupy The Stage, Earl K.
